Patent pending

Patents are very interesting to me because I have several ideas of thing to patent and get rich off of, even though it probably isn't very realistic. This would be possible because I could sell the patent and get royalties(dividends of profit) for the rest of my life. I want to continue to learn about patents and how to apply and receive one I might even consider applying for a patent for my senior project.

Written standard:

Whenever someone has an idea for a new product or perhaps breeds a new plant, possibly even a design. The requirements for a patent are simple it has to be a new product and not obvious to someone who works in the specific field said patent is requested for. There are four different types of patents; each type is for a different use. A Utility Patent is mainly used for new items or and typical inventions, this is the most common patent applied for/granted. Design patents are granted for anything ornamental that can be manufactured. Plant patents are for any asexually reproduced plants that are distinct and of a new variety. There is a long process to receiving a patent the best way to show the steps is through a flow chart which I found on the United States Patent and Trademark
Office.

Reading standard:
I found all my information on the Unite States Patent and Trademark Office website, so here's the link (http://www.uspto.gov/web/patents/howtopat.htm)!

Review
I would really like to continue learning about patenting, and learn the whole process rather than just the basics. I think this could possibly lead to a hobby for the rest of my life. Who knows maybe it will even lead to a full time career.

  1. Can you post the flow chart somehow? Also, list the specific reading standard from the list provided on the R drive.

  2. I could not get the flow chart on but I can email it to you. I applied context clues to extend vocabulary.
